On Tuesday, 6th December, the Y9 generation left early for Escuela 44 Valdez Chico in San José, to work together, fixing and painting the school and the surrounding playground.
The 6YL Completion of Studies Ceremony signalled the end of the School careers for our oldest students. The ceremony was witnessed by families and friends, and there were mixed emotions as students were together as students for the last time.
During the unit "Mate o té", F2 students investigated the traditions and customs of Uruguay. For this reason, they visited the Museo del Carnaval and learned and experienced this great tradition that has been taking place in our country for many years.
Last Monday, 7th October, after beating Estudiantes del Plata 3-1, the U14 football team won the gold cup of the first edition of the Liga Universitaria de Deportes in this category.
On Monday 31ST October, Form 5s attended a talk about the British vessel HMS Protector which arrived to Uruguay last week. Form 5 students wrote down their reflections.
As part of our Unit of Inquiry, How the world works and taking into account the central idea of this Unit: Earth is part of a larger Universe, our Prep students visited the Planetarium on Thursday, 3rd of November.
The Form 6 “News report presentation” took place last week in their classrooms. It involved students writing and preparing a short report on an authentic global issue or topic and delivering it in the most engaging way possible.
On October 27th, we were delighted to welcome Prof. Leticia Ponce from the prestigious IE University in Madrid to our School. Prof. Ponce is an experienced businesswoman who attended Kellogg School of Management and Stanford University.
Last Wednesday saw the opening of the exhibition "A Message to Save the World", an interdisciplinary project between History and Art by Y1 students. Set inside a cave from the Palaeolithic Period, the students themselves guided visitors through their work.
