The British Schools is a non-profit, coeducational, private school in the suburbs of Montevideo, Uruguay. It was founded in 1908, and currently has around 1400 students, the majority of whom are Uruguayan.

The British Schools was one of the founding members of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and all our students sit their Diploma subjects in English. Students in the Senior School also take IGCSE, while in Primary the School is accredited for the IB Primary Years Programme. In all grades the students follow parts of the Uruguayan national curriculum as well as the different international ones.

The British Schools has a strong extra-curricular programme, especially in its main sports, rugby for boys and hockey for girls, as well as producing annual musicals which are watched by upwards of 7,000 people. The School is active in Model United Nations (MUN), as well as other sporting, artistic, cultural and academic activities.
