CIS re-accreditation

The Council of International Schools is a universally recognised organisation that acts as indication of the high standards required to be an elite International School. As a community, I am sure that you will know that since 2023, we have been on a journey towards CIS re-accreditation.
CIS accreditation is more than a badge of honour; it is a mark of quality recognized worldwide. It reflects our school's dedication to continuous improvement, global perspectives, and educational excellence.
Here's why CIS accreditation is crucial for us:
- Global Benchmark: CIS accreditation ensures that our school meets rigorous international standards in teaching, learning, and operations. This gives your child access to an education aligned with the best practices globally.
- Accountability and Improvement: The accreditation process involves thorough evaluations and feedback, allowing us to continually enhance our school community and programs. It reflects our dedication to improvement and innovation.
- Values and Vision: CIS accreditation emphasizes the development of intercultural skills, global citizenship, and ethical leadership—values that prepare students to navigate an increasingly interconnected world.
- Future Opportunities: Accredited schools are recognized by universities, organizations, and employers worldwide. This strengthens your child's prospects as they transition to higher education and beyond.
With all this in mind, in May of 2024, we went through the first part of the re-accreditation process which involved two accreditors visiting our School to look at our teaching and learning as well as our health and safety procedures, safeguarding and wellbeing and general operational norms.
In October of this year, a team of seven visitors will come to school to assess in greater depth our practice and procedure and with this celebrate the successes we enjoy, whilst highlighting some areas for general development.
The first part of this process was your engagement with the recent community survey which you took part in at the end of the last academic year.Your views were extremely useful and genuinely helped us identify areas that we feel we need to prioritise as a school.
In the coming months, I will be inviting you to a general meeting about the CIS process as well as sending out various important updates. In the meantime I thank you as ever for your continued support.
