BUDDY SYSTEM
The "Buddy System" is an initiative and project created by students. It consists of a mentoring programme, where students in Year 4, 5 and 6, on a voluntary basis, have come forward to accompany the academic and social development of all Year 1 students. The older students will be called the "Lions" and the Year 1 students the "Cubs". This proposal seeks to bring the students closer together, providing the opportunity to generate bonds of trust that allow learning to take place for all the students involved. Each "Cub" will be assigned a "Lion" to fulfil this purpose.
On Saturday, 30th April the Student Wellbeing team held a workshop within the Buddy System framework.
Saturday's workshop had three instances, where the "Lions" participated with commitment and dedication. The workshop had different stations where students were able to reflect on their role, their expectations and challenges, as well as establish working guidelines, while playing and having fun creating team identity and belonging.
