BOOK WEEK
To emphasise the importance we have been putting on reading, this week was full of book-related activities to celebrate National Book Day on Thursday, 26th May. We would like to thank all the fathers that came into Junior to read. Senior students also came to Junior and read and participated in reading activities with the younger students. Staff also went in and read stories. Both libraries held book swaps that successfully connected students with new stories. In Senior, there was a ‘general knowledge book quiz’ in some classes.
However, the highlight of the week was on Thursday 26th May, when students and staff came dressed as book characters or famous authors and turned classrooms and corridors into a kaleidoscope of colour and imagination. There were many Harry Potters and other Hogwarts students, while many staff members came as some of their teachers. There were lots of wizards and witches, as well as characters from Dr Seuss and other well known fairy stories.
