WELCOME BACK ASSEMBLY

On Tuesday, 25th February we welcomed the whole school back for the start of the academic year.
Whilst Early Years students were busy on their welcome induction, Years 1 – 12 joined together with staff for our annual whole School Assembly.
Since arriving in 2023, our Principal, Mr Roberts has introduced a theme to run throughout the year, a theme linked to our annual Upstander campaign. In 2023 the theme was Be Inspirational, in 2024, Be Proud and in 2025 Be Helpful, Be Humble. The themes are designed to support the development of an individual sense of belonging and to tie directly into the School Mission Statement.
When we talk about personal growth, and developing creative, discerning and inquiring students with a good moral standing, what better way to foster this than with a humble and helpful attitude. Human values and School Spirit, are not only a fundamental part of our School, but also fundamental to a well balanced holistic education.
The first assembly started, as it always does, with the singing of both the Uruguayan and British National Anthems as well as the School Song. This was followed by a short address from Mr Roberts, but more importantly from our Head Boy and Head Girl, Tiago Gercar and Belen Elgorriaga who also spoke about what it is to be both Helpful and Humble.
It is hoped that we more than set the scene for a hugely successful 2025. A year in which we instil the best of both Uruguayan and British values within the whole community.
