SPACE APPS CHALLENGE

Congratulations to Florencia Bentancor (F2), Sofía Bentancor (F3), Paulina Fernández (F3) and Catalina Kirkoff (F3) who took part in “Space Apps Challenge,” a worldwide competition organised by NASA on the first weekend of October. They presented a work on NASA's James Webb Space Telescope, tutored by Andrés Bentancor and Hélène Bonavita. The challenge was "Learning Through the Looking Glass".

Over 500 people participated in this national competition, with more than 40 teams taking part.

On Saturday, 29th October the prizes were awarded to the 4 national winners, at Fundación Los Pinos and the team "Next Generation Space Girls" formed by the students of The British Schools won in the Under 13 category, hence qualifying to participate in the international competition. The 10 winning groups worldwide will be invited to NASA to witness the launch of a space rocket.

This is the first time that an under 13 national team has qualified to compete internationally.
