Piso Digno

Our Year 9 students and their families came together for the fourth edition of the Piso Digno Community Commitment activity in Barrio San Miguel.
This special day was about much more than building floors. It was an opportunity for our students to step outside the classroom, work alongside their parents and teachers, and experience first-hand the importance of community, solidarity and service.
Throughout the day, students and volunteer parents worked together to build safe, dignified floors for local families. At the same time, another team was busy preparing a hearty stew to share with the community. By the end of the day, food had been prepared for more than 300 people, making the experience a true celebration of coming together.
The funds that made this initiative possible were raised during our School campaign in March. Thanks to the generosity and support of our School Community, those contributions were transformed into something tangible: materials, meals and, most importantly, an opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
Our Year 9 students also discovered that community service is not simply about giving. It is about listening, collaborating, getting involved and understanding that even small actions can have a lasting impact. Working side by side with their parents made the experience even more meaningful, strengthening the connection between School, family and the wider community.
We are deeply grateful to all the parents who volunteered their time and energy, to everyone who contributed to the March campaign and to the Piso Digno Foundation for making this experience possible.
The fourth edition of our Community Commitment reminded us of something simple but powerful: when a community works together, we can build much more than a floor; we can build dignity, connection and hope.
