Piso Digno

On the 26th, a group of Year 9 students, together with a group of committed parents, and families, set out on a volunteering day in Barrio San Miguel. Accompanied by the ‘Piso Digno’ Foundation, they arrived equipped with tools, a strong work ethic, and a clear purpose: to support the community — not only with words, but through concrete action.
During the morning, they built two floors in local homes, contributing their labour, effort, and solidarity. It was a collective task, carried out side by side with residents and families, who welcomed us with gratitude, hope, and a spirit of collaboration.
They also prepared a stew that provided a meal for over 300 people: a giant pot of fellowship, made possible by shared ingredients, helping hands, and hearts eager to support others.
It was a service-learning experience through which the students came to understand the value of commitment, teamwork, and solidarity.
We hope that this volunteering initiative — and everything it represents — inspires our educational Community to continue building together, not only with words on a page, but with hands, commitment, and genuine solidarity.
