Y1L-Y3L see Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing"

120 students of The British Schools went to see The Globe Theatre Company of London perform Shakespeare’s much-loved comedy “Much Ado About Nothing” at Montevideo’s marvellous El Sodre theatre. 

Benedick:"An he had been a dog that should have howled thus,
they would have hanged him."

Before falling in love, Benedick (pictured above) hates the idea of love so much that he would rather plug his ears with oranges than listen to Hero sing of her love for Claudio. The actor, Christopher Harper, played the part brilliantly, wooing the audience with his razor-sharp alpha-male put-downs and exaggerated facial expressions. Opposite him stood Beatrice, whose acid wit was captured with equal genius by Emma Pallant. With a little help from their friends, Beatrice and Benedick get past their mutual loathing and, of course, fall wonderfully in love. After all, “the world must be peopled!”

Once their love is secure, the two lovers set about helping save the romantic future of Hero (pictured below), victim of the villainous Don John’s wicked gossip:
