Australian Big Science Competition at The British Schools
On the 11th and 14th of May, eight of our 2YL and 3YL students were the first Uruguayans to participate in The Big Science Competition, the biggest science competition in Australia, organised by ASI, Australian Science Innovations (www.asi.edu.au), which is Australia’s premier provider of innovative and challenging science programs, competitions and residential camps for high achievers such as the Australian Science Olympiads.
The Big Science Competition is a 50 minute, multiple choice competition testing critical thinking and problem solving skills, not just factual recall, with questions that are set in real-life contemporary contexts. The invitation to participate arrived to our School via ORT University, was carried out by the Science Department and with the unconditional support of the School’s Helpdesk, our School could guarantee the students the best conditions to demonstrate their science inquiry skills, science knowledge of core scientific concepts and their understanding on the influence that society has on science.
In 10 business days we will have news on their performance. We wish them all the luck!
