Y9- JUNTOS
On Tuesday, 6th December, the Y9 generation left early for Escuela 44 Valdez Chico in San José, to work together, fixing and painting the school and the surrounding playground. It was an excellent opportunity to foster the integration of the generation, where everyone worked together in ifferent teams for various purposes: fixing chairs and tables, painting the façade, painting and mending the hammocks and outdoor tables, refurbishing the football goals, etc.
The children joined for the day, participating and contributing anecdotes of their days in the school, happy to receive so many young people eager to cooperate. There are 21 students who attend class every day, and after coordination and advice from their teachers, we brought a gift for each one. The gift-giving moment when the children saw that each of them had a gift was one of the highlights of the day, which in itself was enormously enriching for our students, not only as a trigger for new friendships, but also as an instance of giving back to the community.
A special mention for the teachers who accompanied and collaborated alongside the students.
