Year 2 - La Dominga farm

As part of our unit of inquiry "How the World Works," Year 2 students went on a field trip to La Dominga farm to deepen their understanding of plants. During the visit, the children learned about the different parts of a plant and the function each part plays in helping the plant grow and survive. They also had the chance to get their hands dirty by planting different seeds in the soil using real gardening tools.
This hands-on experience helped bring our learning to life. Seeing plants up close, talking to the farmers, and planting seeds themselves gave students a better understanding of how plants grow and why they are important to life on Earth. The trip sparked lots of questions and curiosity, and it will inspire further exploration back in the classroom.
