As part of the Unit of Inquiry “Animals in the world”, under the Transdisciplinary Theme: Sharing the planet, Year 2 visited the “Estación de Cría de Flora y Fauna Autóctona: Uruguay Tabaré González Sierra” in Piriápolis, Maldonado. During this outing the children received a guided tour around the park, led by the Park Rangers who work with the animals on a daily basis. During this walk they could learn a lot about Uruguay’s native animals and their habitats. This was a great opportunity for children to understand the importance of looking after our country’s wildlife and the key role we all play in making sure we continue to care for it.
