Uruguayan authors visited the Junior Library

Last week the Form 4 and Form 5 students received a visit by one of Uruguay’s most widely read children’s authors, Helen Velando. Both year groups are reading books written by her and the visit gave them the opportunity to ask questions and to understand the process an author goes through from the inception of an idea to the publication of the book.

Form 2 students were very excited to receive a visit from another children’s author, this time a member of our own community, Virginia Brown. She was able to answer many of the questions that the students had formulated as a result of their recent Unit of Inquiry entitled, “….. and my heart started pounding!” which involved researching the life and work of authors (past and present) from around the World.
