Could you read me Wroclaw? World Book Capital City UNESCO 2016
On March 23, 2016, Wrocław takes over the title of the World Book Capital City UNESCO 2016 from Incheon in South Korea. In her congratulatory letter, the Director-General of UNESCO Irina Bokova wrote that Wroclaw had been awarded this uniquely prestigious distinction in recognition of the city’s preparation of an “outstanding programme aiming at the promotion of reading among a broader audience for a whole year”. Wroclaw, the World Book Capital City, has thus joined the distinguished group including Madrid, Bangkok, Amsterdam, Buenos Aires and Toronto.
