Year 4 Unit Celebration

As part of our ‘Sharing the Planet’ unit, Year 4 students explored the central idea ‘People take action as a result of conflict’ through a series of debates on global issues. 

They chose topics that were meaningful and relevant to them, formed teams based on shared interests and researched different perspectives to develop claims supported by evidence and compelling reasons. 

On debate day, students demonstrated great enthusiasm, confidence and care for the issues they had investigated, listening to opposing viewpoints and engaging thoughtfully with one another. It was a wonderful opportunity to put their critical thinking, communication and research skills into action while discovering the importance of understanding different perspectives.
